Here are some valuable potty training tips, girls! Number one – if you are working on potty training your girl – leave dad out of this one unless he does it without you asking. I know that most modern women think that their husbands are akin to hairy women, but don’t fool yourself. If you were to get a truly honest answer from your husband, I can guaranty that most men would say that they felt somewhat uncomfortable toilet training their daughter.
In the practical sense, asking men to teach a girl to wipe, for instance, can be quite awkward. They may be puzzled as to which direction to wipe, or where to begin – from front to back or back to front. Due to a man’s nature, he probably won’t give this too much thought and allow your daughter to figure it out by herself. However, for hygienic reasons, wiping from back to front can lead to infection, therefore it is most important to teach your child the proper way from the beginning. Your husband, unless trained as a pediatrician or pediatric nurse, will probably not know this.

Potty training toddlers are never a “breeze”, so using baby overnight diapers are still recommended while your child is still getting used to using the toilet. Potty training girls may be a bit easier than training little boys, but still, the same emotional effort and energy for both can be daunting, especially to the new mother. When I say, easier, I am referring to the obvious; with girls, there is no target practice – ready, aim, fire – and there goes another blouse into the hamper. Well, I guess you get the picture. In the meantime, for either girl or boy, it’s best to ease children into toilet training by giving them some sort of security, i.e. the diaper at night.

One of the safest kids training potty on the market is not made of plastic, but is a kid’s wooden chair made by the U.S. based Little Colorado furniture. Their baby potty is also customizable, including the option of coming with or without a holder for toilet paper. The optional holder is mounted on the side, where your potty training toddler can easily reach it. On the opposite side, an optional book rack can be mounted, which can also double as a storage compartment. The potties are made of resilient Baltic birch plywood and come with a removable plastic chamber, which conforms to industry standard size for easy replacement. After use, the chamber pot easily slides out from the rear, which serves well to avoid unwanted messes or spillage.
